Vincit 120

Avoid potentially expensive pipe string failure with a low-cost coating.

Vincit 120 is a quick-drying, water-based, thin film corrosion preventative compound specifically developed for the internal surfaces of OCTG. It’s formulated to preserve:

  • Internal bare metal surfaces, both in transit and storage with closed end protectors fitted.
  • Bare metal items stored indoors.
  • Most ferrous, non-ferrous and light alloy items.

It readily wets and covers prepared metal surfaces to deposit a coherent, lightweight anti-corrosive film on drying. The coating is water shedding, gas impermeable, acid repellent and resistant to thermal ‘sag’, while being ultimately soluble in hydrocarbon product stream.

  • Virtually volatile organics-free with a VOC content of <10g/l.
  • Water-based means it has minimal environmental impact.
  • 6-12 months and beyond protection, with the correct preparation and application.
  • The translucent coating aids metal surface inspection without removal needed.
  • Available in 25kg
  • Contains no heavy metals, catalyst poisons or hydrocarbon-incompatible compounds.

Specifically designed for internal OCTG surfaces, Vincit 120 is easy and inexpensive to apply. It easily removes excess coating and frees from entrained air bubbles.

To begin, ensure metal surfaces are oil-free for optimum results. For a uniformly wetted film, apply Vincit 120 using either an airless spraying, swabbing, dipping or sponge-pigging technique depending on local conditions. Combination techniques such as airless spraying followed by sponge-pigging has proven to be consistently reliable.

After application and drying by evaporation, the protective film will be perceptible to the touch by its slight drag or friction. It will not be wet or visible. Dried films of Vincit 120 are unaffected by thread compounds applied subsequently. And Vincit 120 applied to in-place thread compounds will not wet or interact with those compounds. Considerate working practices allow the two systems to complement each other.
