To ensure you have contamination control within your environment, you must use the correct cleaning techniques to keep it in optimal condition. In this blog, we’ve put together a simple five-step guide to wipe down surfaces, the AGMA way, using our 1/4 folded wipes, which produce up to eight clean wiper faces.
Before running through each step, it’s important to remember that you should:
Always use a clean face of the wiper per stroke (pass).
Wipe from the cleanest area to the dirtiest areas, in long straight strokes, wiping systematically from top to bottom, left to right.
Always wipe in the same direction.
Always use a new clean wiper face when re-wiping a surface.
Step 1
Using one cleaning face (Image 1) of the wiper per pass, wipe the surface using linear parallel strokes.
Step 2
Turn the wiper over to make a second pass, overlapping the first pass by 15-20% (Image 2).
Step 3
Open the wiper out to 1/2 folded (Image 3), and refold to enclose the contaminated faces to 1/4 folded (Image 1), to expose two clean faces. Continue with the third pass (Image 4).
Step 4
Turn the wiper over to make a fourth pass (Image 4).
Step 5
The wiper can be completely unfolded and reversed (Image 5), and refolded into 1/2 and then 1/4 (Images 6 and 7) to enclose the contaminated faces, which will expose four remaining clean faces. Once all eight faces have been used, the wiper can be disposed of according to your Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
